Bluebird Monday - 1/6/26

Guest Blog: Kalan Brunell

We started off the late morning with a cruise up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail, coverage was surprisingly good given the non-snow precipitation recently, with a light dusting sweetening the deal and add some grip. A beautiful bluebird day greeted us at the base of bowl, but a brisk breeze kept us a little chilly.

Given the line choices of others in the bowl, I left my dad to record from below and booted up the bottom of Right Gully. Just below the choke it started to get firm, and I cut lookers left over towards Sluice where nicer snow awaited. At this point the breeze relaxed as the clouds rolled in.

After transitioning, I skied with care expecting firm conditions, but was pleasantly surprised by some deeper pockets of soft snow between firm, but grabby coverage. The base of the bowl was quite icy and windblown, but we quickly moved past to head back down.

The Sherburne Trail was definitely firm and fast, though covered down to the parking lot with some scratchy moguls thrown in. The light dusting added some cushion, and made for an all around fun lap.
