Alpine Touring Skis
The cornerstones of any backcountry setup are your skis which fall under four categories: skimo race, mountaineering, all mountain, and powder skis. Of course there are tweener skis but it's recommended to start with the ski that you'll use the most. For the east coast, that's generally going to fall in the 85 to 95mm waist, at a length that is similar or a touch shorter than your daily alpine ski. Not sure what to choose or where to start?
