Gulf of Slides (GOS) Ski Trail - 1/30/25
Jan 30, 2025
In need of a low key morning, I snoozed the alarm a bit and made my way up to Pinkham in order to take advantage of yesterdays snowfall. The usual Sherb lap was my original plan but after seeing no tracks heading towards GOS, I knew what needed to be done.
Both lower water crossings are completely frozen with a hefty blanket of snow on top, making the upfront access and eventual exit to the trail smooth sailing. I enjoyed moments of sunshine in between wind gusts as I set the skinner up the trail, frothing at what would await as I wiggled my way back down.
Overall, the trail is in solid shape but there are a few wind effected patches to be aware of (see below). Large powder drifts offset the minor scratchy sections creating a pleasant ski down.
A year older, sigh.
