We started hiking up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail around 8am. It wasn't skinnable until just after the turn off to Huntington Ravine Trail. It improved a little after Hermit Lake but had a lot of exposed rock on the steep section. We transition to crampons to hike through the Ravine floor. We ascended about midway up Left Gully. Conditions were very firm with a few pockets of powder near the wall.

Due to the rocky and icy conditions, the quickest way out to Hermit Lake was to switch back to crampons.

We skied about 3/4 of the John Sherburne Ski Trail before we switched back to crampons—no rock skis for us. The Sherb was hard ice with new snow covering up many of the rocks.
