After hefty glitter application (gals day) we started skinning from the parking lot around 8:00am. We were able to put skis on right at the car with relatively good coverage all the way up the cog to the summit.

It was cold, clear, and calm all morning. The skinning was easy and straightforward until the section above Jacob's Ladder (about 4,800 ft) where our skins started slipping in the sections that were packed down.

As we broke treeline, there was little to no wind on the ridge and we were greeted with views extending all the way to the Adirondacks , NY (roughly 130 miles of visibility!) We skinned along the cog all the way to the summit sign where we took photos and couldn't believe it's November 20th!!

We transitioned and skied off the summit to skiers left of the tracks. From the summit cone to the Gulfside Trail junction the snow surface was mainly rime, which made turns difficult in sections that it was drifted. Once we got to Gulfside junction we crossed back over the tracks and the surface changed back to snow and the skiing got substantially better.

We crossed back over to the skiers left side of the tracks at Waumbek Station (3,800 ft) and stayed on the left side of the tracks all the way down to the base. We were able to easily ski all the way back to our cars with only minimal rocks showing on the last pitch leading to the bottom.
