We started our day boot-packing up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. It was about three quarters of a mile until we could pop our skins on, but once we put them on we were set for the rest of the skin up to Hermit Lake Shelter.
After Hermit Lake we ascended Right Gully. After topping out we walked through the alpine, through the rocks and eventually reunited with the Tuckerman Ravine Trail.
After summiting, we descended the Eastern Snowfields, where we encountered heavy sun baked pow. Skiing down took a significant amount of energy to control our skis in the wet snow.
After the Eastern Snowfields, we descended down The Lip, in hopes of some smooth turns and corn snow. We were successfully and enjoyed some nice corn down The Lip as the clouds were rolling in.
After boot-packing back down the Tuckerman Ravine Trail back to Hermit Lake, we enjoyed some more soft nice turns half way down the Sherburne Ski Trail. At Crossover #3 (right before the rock jump) we had to crossover back to the Tuckerman Ravine Trail about a mile from the bottom. Overall, a very great day out with some fun turns.
