We started up the TRT at 8:30 and meandered our way to Hermit Lake. After formal greetings with Cooper we cruised up to the bowl and up right gully. With firm bootpacking on the way up Right Gully and marginal ski conditions we opted to down climb a little before cautiously skiing down to the base of sluice. We noticed the slight aspect change yielded far better snow in Sluice. Slight wallowing shifted to good bootpack snow on moderately firm wind board. We transitioned 3/4 of the way up and skied grippy wind board on the way down. We saw and found similar snow conditions on Lip with a trend towards soft/powder snow. We only skied Lip from the choke as we worried the upper section would be badly scoured down to ice.Â
After skiing down to the cabin we worked our way over to Huntington via Raymonds Path and fire road. Once in the ravine, we found extremely firm and variable skin and ski conditions. Huntington fire road skied all the way to TRT. Sherb was firing.Â
