Description

Atomic Backland 65 UL

Built for skiers who want to move fast and cover serious vertical, the Backland 65 UL is all about keeping things light and efficient. This is a ski for big days, long climbs, and ski mountaineering missions where every gram counts. At just 670g per ski in the 161cm length, it makes quick work of the uphill without feeling like an afterthought on the way down.

Developed alongside Atomic’s World Cup ski mountaineering athletes, the Backland 65 UL uses an ultralight wood core reinforced with carbon and fiberglass to keep the weight down while maintaining stability. The HRZN Tech tip helps it track through chopped-up snow, while the directional shape and minimal tail rocker provide solid edge contact and predictable handling on firmer terrain.

A cutout in the tip makes attaching skins quick and easy, and the World Cup base finish helps keep things moving efficiently on the climb and descent. With a 65mm waist and a 24m turn radius, this is a purpose-built tool for fast transitions, long approaches, and big vertical days rather than a powder ski or an everyday touring setup.

If speed, efficiency, and getting more laps or more vertical into your day are the priority, the Backland 65 UL is a serious option.
