Description
Atomic Backland 95
If you’re looking for one ski that can handle a little bit of everything in the backcountry, the Backland 95 is a solid place to start. At 95mm underfoot, it hits a nice middle ground between keeping things light on the skin track and having enough width and stability to enjoy the descent. It’s comfortable on firmer snow, handles changing conditions well, and has enough float for those softer days.
The All-Terrain Profile adds torsional stiffness for better edge grip and control on harder snow, while Atomic’s HRZN 3D tip helps the ski stay afloat in powder and makes it easier to manage when conditions get a little messy. A poplar wood core keeps the weight down without making the ski feel flimsy, and the directional shape with minimal tail rocker helps maintain grip and stability through turns.
At around 1,370g per ski in the 177cm length, the Backland 95 is a great option for longer tours, big days in the mountains, and skiers who want a versatile setup that can handle a wide range of terrain without feeling like a chore on the way up.
Atomic has also reworked the construction with more poplar wood, less fiberglass and resin, and waste-reducing sidewalls, reducing material-related CO₂-equivalent emissions by 30% compared with the 2021 Backland 85.
