The fourth generation of the Navis Freebird has undergone extensive modernization and has become the spearhead for touring skiers thirsty for descents. With a refined tip and a waist width of 104 mm for equivalent flotation, the new Navis Freebird is both lighter, with a weight reduction of around 10%, and more maneuverable. It also has better grip and increased stability. 

With its new 21-meter radius, it encourages you to let loose and fully enjoy the wide-open spaces conquered by the power of your legs. A new sizing system, from 165 to 186 cm, adds to the appeal of this mountain beast, built for any challenge.

Greg's Take: This years Navis is a combination of prior Navis and Corvus Freebird models, sitting squarely between the two at 104mm underfoot. I spent a tiny bit of time on them this past winter and enjoyed the new layup, although it's certainly feels like a new ski to me. The flat tail and progressive front rocker provided flotation in soft snow while still allowing solid edge hold when the coverage got a bit thin. One thing that I noticed was the skis desire to make big and fast turns; which made it feel more like a Corvus than my tried and true Navis of years past. If you're looking to open it up on the descent without destroying your legs on the skintrack, look no further than this latest iteration of the Navis Freebird.
