Fischer's entry point into backcountry skiing, the Transalp 82 ski is an excellent deal carrying all the features of the carbon version but at a great price. At under $600 you're getting a lightweight ski with a four year warranty. Slight modifications to profile both in rocker and sidecut will improve skinning and turning. Pair with the Tour Speed Turn or Tour Speed Lite bindings to minimize the weight and give the best performance.
