No Bad Weather, Just Bad Gear - 5/23/25

Itching to run some miles on Mt. Washington, Adam and decided to trust our luck on the Nelson Crag Trail. Starting off from Pinkham you get a nice flat start until you break off left and head up the trail. What started off as rain quickly transitioned to snow and then lots of snow. Trail breaking through knee deep drifts from above 3500 ft. Wearing my  Norrona Senja Jacket, I was quite comfortable up in the alpine. Snowing and a modest breeze kept us moving forward. Slow trail breaking across the Alpine Garden and a slippery descent down Lion's Head Summer Trail deposited us at Hermit Lake. After a quick defrost and hello to Jimmy Rips. We descended the Sherb... which was almost skiable. With the right kit and the right attitude, even the bad days in the White Mountains can be fun!
