A Case of the Monday's - 2/24/25
Feb 24, 2025
As always.... Adam and I skinned up to Huntington Ravine in search of adventure. We began heading up Central to see how it was looking. Less then ideal snow made us switch plans and headed into Diagonal. We spotted Andrew Drummond topping out after skiing Diagonal. We parted ways and made out way down. Good edge-able snow with 2-4 inches of fresh snow on top. We put on some crampons and headed over to North Gully (WI3, Steep Snow 500ft). We flew up the ice enjoying good sticks and neve snow. We down solo'd Yale Gully (WI2-3, Steep Snow 1000ft) it provided wet sticks and an interesting experience down solo'ing ice. We booted over to Damnation Gully (WI3, Steep Snow 1000ft) another hot lap had me sweating and ready for some skiing. We side slipped our way over to a whiteout Tuckerman Ravine. Bidwell took a chance and dropped the Lip in whiteout conditions. He scored powder turns! After coming down Lobster Claw, we swapped and headed back to ride the Lip. Adam skied Chute Variation North, and I enjoyed more powder tuns on the Lip. Another Lip lap with some friends and our day came to an end. Sorry to all the 9-5er's out in the world.
Heading up Central.
Top out of Central.
