Gulf of Slides (Main Gully & Gully 2) 12/10/24
Dec 10, 2024
The usual suspects headed up GOSST to scope out Main Gully (plus a bonus lap on #2) after another 2-3” fell overnight. Winds were low and so was visibility but a non reactive snowpack made for fun skiing today. The slides were not fully filled in which made the exit of Gully 2 quite interesting.
As the day rolled on and temps rose the snow became sticky and tough to maneuver. Luckily we got an early start and were able to squeeze in a few runs before glopping up. With this week’s weather the whole GOS area will look quite different and may not be ideal to ski for a while. It was a good closeout to Winter 1.0 today with good conditions and good company!
