Sherb and Chicken Rock 12/18/24
Dec 18, 2024
Guest blogger Brigham Ellis reporting today. Set out from Pinkham Notch Visitor Center with low expectations today and saw conditions pretty similar to what we expected. Overall very firm snow on all slopes today. However above 4000 feet around 1 to 2 inches of new snow fell overnight making for some more skiiable turns in Chicken Rock Gully. The skiing was not the best but a bit better than the glare ice we have had so far this week. The lower half of the Sherb was much more crusty and far worse skiing then earlier this week. Looking forward to some new snow this weekend, the poor skiing now will make for a great base later!
Brigham Ellis skinning up to the first bridge on the TRT, still icey all around.
Our Highpoint at the top of Chicken Rock, sunny day in the bowl.
Dropping in! Not the best snow...
Dom Smith back from Utah, making the variable conditions look easy.
