Thursday Beach Day - 2/19/26

I left the Pinkham notch lot at 6:30 just as the sun was rising. As the sun cast a pink glow on the Pinkham front range I regretted not starting earlier; but I was happy for all my friends who did the early wake up. Spencer and Tyler were probably crawling half way up some ice climb by now.
45 minutes later I was at the base of Hillmans Highway, I booted up and enjoyed soft turns on snow that was already starting to warm up. I booted back up hillmans and took advantage of the perfect blue skies on the long walk up to the summit from Boott Spur. After tagging the sign I skied down the road to the eastern snow fields. As I dropped in I was shocked to find perfect soft snow that had no speed limit. I booted up twice more to take advantage of the perfect snow up high.
To end off my day I traversed over to the bowl and dropped into center headwall; possibly my favorite run on Washington. I was surprised with soft cold snow over the roll over. When I finished arcing gs turns down the apron I knew my day wasn't over yet. I booted up right gully 2 more times and hit the other variations of center headwall. Word of advice although the Sluice booter looks tempting right gully takes the same amount of time and goes to the same place without the exposure.
Little headwall skied great out of the bowl and the Sherb is fast. Over the day I ended up racking up over 7k of vert; today was a great taste of the spring steep skiing we'll have in few months.
