Trail: TRT / Lionhead / Hermit Lake
Notes: Hiked up in trail shoes from PInkham this morning. Coverage was good enough to skin the second half, but it still had low coverage and plenty of water bars to deal with. Caught the sunrise from Hermit Lake while a couple of skiers were booting up Chute. I headed up Lion Head to get eyes on the snowfields and was quickly turned around by the cold and wind. I retreated to Hermit Lake and headed up to the bowl to get a few turns in.
Beta: It's mini golf season. Left Gully offers the most vert at the moment but I didn't bother to head over and check stability. I opted instead to stick with Chute, which others had skied before me. The wind slab was stable. On the way out, I was able to get halfway down the Sherb (to where the pitches start) without taking the skis off. Obviously the water bars are flowing so use caution if you head out.Â
