West Side Wigglin' - 2/26/26

After a beautiful morning skin up Attitash with Emily I had a little time to squeeze in a lap before work. I decided to pop a boot off and drive over to West Side Glade, part of the Granite Backcountry Alliance network of glade areas. It was a pleasant walk in the woods, the sun was shining and the birds chirping, I had the entire zone to myself.

I made my way up the skinner to the top of the zone, which is a cozy little cluster of coniferous trees that blocked the wind and made for a nice spot to rest before dropping in. I opted for the furthest line, Timber Theft, as it seemed to have less tracks leading towards it.

I scraped a rock on my first turn which wasn't a great sign, but rebounded well, finding the pockets and enjoying fresh powder snow till the lines funneled back down toward the parking lot.  The zone consists of mostly mellow pitches with little rock jumps twists and turns mixed in to keep you engaged. As always, keep your tips up in the woods and ski light. You never know what will be lurking underneath, especially with the warm up on the horizon.

The drop in of Timber Theft - a fun little "cliff" on the right there to get ya started

Higher up on the glade before hitting the hardwoods

Funneling in to the other lines via this little hallway, still plenty of snow down low!

Looking back up at one of the more open sections of hardwoods - nice work GBA!
