Lower Hillman's 1/12/25

Today we attempted to penetrate the Mt Washington forcefield. We headed up the path of least resistance, back to Hillman's Highway. What was shaping up to be a clear and low-wind morning, shifted to windy and cold as we ascended to the Y about halfway up. Conditions were what we expected - pockets of windslab that were soft and skied well, mixed with old avalanche debris, and everything in between. The winds are predicted to calm throughout the day and hopefully the clouds lift as well. There's plenty of great skiing out there but also a lot of firm snow that requires crampons to navigate.

The Sherb continues to be very fun on the top two-thirds.
