Pinkham Pow Day 12/5/24
Dec 05, 2024
Trail: Sherburne Ski Trail and Tuckerman Ravine Trail
Notes: Overnight snow made for smooth sailing this morning down the Sherb, the first pow day of the season! About 6-8 inches accumulated at Hermit Lake however snow stopped blowing around 7AM but will pick up again later today. Visibility was limited so we could not see much above the shelter. There will likely be many pockets of sensitive snow in the ravines after this latest round of snowfall.
There is top to bottom coverage on the Sherb with one open water bar to navigate at the start (stay right on that first flat pitch!) The Tuckerman Ravine Trail is filling in nicely and can be skinned from the parking lot with only a couple wet spots that are easily navigated. Blowdowns have been cleared as well, thanks again Ben and crew! The Hermit Lake snowplot shows a 55cm base as of this mornings observation.
Beta:Â A few more inches of snow are in the forecast for this evening so don't fret if you couldn't make it up this morning. The base is packed down yet not too icy so there is still good skiing to be had especially with the consistent temps we have had this week. A cold front is approaching as the work week comes to a close so be sure to pack that extra puffy!

Blue skies came out for a hot minute but won't stick around long.
