Tuckerman Ravine & Hillman's Highway - 2/15/25

Not wanting to let a clear morning go to waste. I set off alone to take advantage of some good conditions. Not having a partner I made low risk plans of doing some skiing in Tuckerman Ravine. Watching the sunrise, I crossed my way into the bowl. Looking around I saw no signs of recent avalanches and decided it was green lights for my plan. It was breezy, but nothing out of the ordinary.  I made my way about half way up Lobster Claw. Booting up through soft wind-board, I was happy to be in the still of the morning. Lobster Claws skied fine. A few punchy spots, but overall I was sliding with joy. I picked my way to Little Headwall and had a couple punchy turns, but I did not fall into any open water which was nice. I did a quick skin up the Hillman's to take a look and try to score a second mini lap. With only enough time to go about 1/3 of the way up, I got my best turns of the day. Soft and fast turns brought me to the Sherb. It was a bumpy ride down but finding the wind blow powder provided better turns.

The setting moon.
