Snowfields and Right Gully - 2/22/26

Guest Blog: Owen and Kyle

We skinned up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail to the floor of Tuckerman’s Ravine. It was a beautiful, bright morning. We continued up Right Gully; it was firm in places, but with crampons it wasn’t a problem. After topping out, we booted up to the summit. Visibility was good, and we could see Mt. Mansfield.

Descending the snowfields, the snow was heavy at times. The winds stayed low and the skies remained clear. Fantastic turns lower down made the large groups of mountaineers jealous. Right Gully was softer on the descent. After the first few turns, we found some untracked powder lower down the line. Little Headwall was soft and good, though bony at times. The Sherburne Ski Trail was nice and soft with good moguls, though a little icy lower down.

The skiing was tremendous—many people were saying it was one of the best days of the season.
